Tuesday Feb 07, 2017
Tuesday Feb 07, 2017
In this week's episode, we give lip service to a great (largely overlooked) Irish animated film, Song of the Sea. As Celtic as they come, this great film by the director of The Secret of Kells tells the story of Saoirse (not at all pronounced how it's spelled) and her brother as they search for a magic coat. As we recount the film, we'll also dive into what exactly happened to 2D theatrical animation after 2000. Come join us as we talk this magical film!

Oh, that's really cool! I would love to see more of Tom Moore (ha), this movie really impressed me. Also I love the projects Angelina Jolie is doing of late, she treading some interesting avenues. Thanks for the suggestions, well check those out! -Al

Cartoon Saloon movies are fantastic! They actually have dubbed their "Irish" films in their native language Gaeilge or Irish which as a language learner is a huge plus. Definitely check out Secret of Kells it is gorgeous. They will be releasing 2 new movies The Breadwinner set in the Middle East and produced in part by Angelina Jolie and Wolfwalkers by Tomm Moore which comes back to Celtic mythology.
